Uttar Pradesh lawyer dies after being fired in Kanpur Bar polls

A Kanpur-based lawyer, Gautam Dutt (30) was killed in a shooting that took place during the Kanpur Bar Association election yesterday (December 17).

As reported by Hindi Daily, Amar Ujala, Gautam Dutt was shot for election rivalry after the adjournment of voting in the Bar Association elections on Friday amid uproar and rowdiness.

In this case, an FIR was filed by the police on a complaint filed by the late lawyer’s aunt, Sangeeta Dwivedi. One named person and three unknown persons have been charged under IPC 302 and also under SC/ST.

According to the FIR, around five o’clock in the evening, lawyer Gautam Dutt was discussing the electoral question with other lawyers outside his room, when a Tarun Gupta, with his colleagues, went there and shot him.

On the other hand, according to the report by Dainik Jagran, due to the cancellation of the elections, the situation in the premises of the Court worsened and rival factions of two candidates in the running clashed and gunfire took place, and the bullet hit the deceased. Attorney.

Police said the lawyer suffered serious gunshot wounds and was immediately taken to Lala Lajpat Rai (LLR) Hospital, where he died during treatment.
