The California Lawyers Association London 2022 Legal Program will offer Edinburgh

SACRAMENTO, Calif., October 25, 2021 /PRNewswire/ — The California Lawyers Association (CLA) and its Litigation Section are pleased to announce their “A Week in Legal London” 2022, with unique opportunities for members to interact with UK colleagues and learn from their coworkers. The program, now in its 34and year, offers attendees the chance to explore the tradition and ceremony of the British courts, taking advantage of CLA’s exclusive access; CLA members will be special guests of the Lord Chief Justice, the Right Honorable Lord Burnett of Maldon and the President of the Supreme Court of UK, The Right Honorable Lord Reed of Allermuir. New for 2022 is a complementary program with limited availability, extending the trip by 5 days by Edinburgh, Scotland. the London the program will run from March 20, 2022 at March 26, 2022, and the Edinburgh program will extend from March 27, 2022 through March 31, 2022.

Participants in A Week in Legal London attend sessions of the Supreme Court, the Royal Courts of Justice, the Old Bailey and other legal institutions of historical significance. This year’s program will introduce participants to two new courts – the Oxford and Luton Crown Course. In a historical setting, attendees will participate in courtroom observations and discussions with members of the bar and judiciary. In addition, educational and networking opportunities are available at lunches at the historic Inns of Court, which are generally only accessible to members of the UK legal community. Social interactions with attorneys, barristers, and judges are coupled with educational opportunities directly tied to each location. The week London the program concludes with a gala dinner in the Peers’ Dining Room in the House of Lords. A Week in Legal London is limited to 60 participants, ensuring an intimate and enriching experience.

the Edinburgh program, which has an additional capacity limited to 12 members, offers participants an even more intimate experience. The legal community of Scotland is smaller and tighter than London, and attendees will have the chance to interact with colleagues and counterparts, and attend an exclusive lunch at the Faculty of Lawyers in Edinburgh. The closing reception will be held with members of the local legal profession at the Royal Society of Edinburgh. The CLA group will be staying at the iconic Hôtel Balmoral.
