Nevada Mining Association Announces Operator Safety Award Winners

Nevada Mining Association Announces Operator Safety Award Winners | Serving Northern Nevada

The Nevada Mining Association has announced the winners of its 2022 Mine Operator Safety Awards, which celebrate Nevada mine operators demonstrating an unprecedented commitment to workplace safety.

NVMA security awards are based on performance for the previous calendar year. Prizes are awarded to the best mines in designated categories based on their safety rate, which is calculated using a formula that takes into account the number of employees on site, the number of hours worked in 2021, penalties for lost time accidents, number of reportable incidents, and lost days. Many recipients recorded the impressive “triple zero” – no injuries to report, no lost time incidents or restrictive delays. In addition to the operator awards, the NVMA also recognized 37 individuals for their commitment to workplace safety.

The recipients of the individual safety awards were announced in June. Both categories will be recognized at an awards ceremony at the Nevada Mining Association convention in September. For more information, visit www.nevadamining.org
