CIC Enugu Boys Association Class of 90 holds 2022 meeting in Abuja

Abuja (Sundiata Post) – It was a carnival and a kind of ceremonial recreation characterized by a handshake of old friends as the El Classisco class of 90 from Immaculate Conception College Enugu gathered at the hotel Sunderila Abuja for the 2022 reunion on their 32nd anniversary of post-secondary education.

The theme for this year’s meeting is “Bringing together in hope, strength and brotherhood”.

President El – Classico 90. Dr. Ugochukwu Okafor (Ebubedike Ihiala) in his opening speech said that the El classico is the best among all sets. According to him, El Classico has come a long way and achieved feats that other ensembles cannot match. He noted that despite financial constraints and inconveniences, EL Classico did not and cannot hear the cry of any of its members without seizing the opportunity to pull such a member out of their predicament. Emphasizing that they did it individually and that they will not tire of doing it.

He informed that his administration has introduced wide-ranging reforms, including but not limited to improving the welfare of members.

Dr Okafor, who said the first meeting took place in 2016, thanked the pioneer president, Chinedu Obiano, for laying the first solid foundations.

He also paid a warm tribute to the pioneer members of the Executive Committee of El – Classico ’90 led by Mr. Chinedu Obiano and to the former members of the Executive Committee led by Obinna Ogbuagu.

Engr Obinwanne Ihezue for his excellent leadership qualities.

Not to be outdone in his showers of praise are the members of the local planning committee, namely: Ihezue Obinwanne, Milton Ikeaba, Obinna Ogbuagu, Chibedu Obiano, Ugo Okafor and Chibuzor Morah.

the others are: Onyebuchi Nnaji, Nnamdi Okigbo, Francis Ogidi, Nduka Dike, Nduka Ashuke, Basil Nwokolo, Iyke Udom and Emeka Soronnadi.

Earlier in his speech, the president of the occasion, Ambassador Akin Ayetoro instructed EL Classico to stand and lean on each other to lighten their burdens.

Amb Akin said meetings are good because they provide an opportunity for renewal, networking and reflection along this journey called life.

Akin, who titled his topic: “The Restorative Power of Hope,” said that hope is eternal in the best of human beings; I hope this is what wakes us up every morning giving us a new impetus that we can do better today than the start. It’s that eternal fountain that springs up anew every morning, every day – instilling in us the confidence that we can succeed if we are determined enough and steady enough on a course.

The Ambassador indicated that in building their lives, they should make sure that they infuse it with all the education, abilities and skills they have, because if this is not done, they will look back and wish they had, only to find the opportunity was gone. because that time has passed.

He reminded them that they are the carpenter of their lives because the attitude and choices they make today will be their home tomorrow.

Recall that the program began on Friday with cocktails and catch-up, a business session and an evening evening which inaugurated the activities of Saturday.

Earlier Saturday before dinner, members undertook aerobatics/warm-up, football game (Arts V Sci), breakfast, business and investment discussion, AGM/launch.
